  1. Turn on

    To turn your earphones on or off, press and hold the power button for 1 second.

  2. Set up

    If the indicator light on your earphones turns on but doesn't flash, your earphones have already been set up with a device. In that case, follow the steps to connect to a different device.

    If you have an iPhone with iOS 10 or later, follow these steps. When you set up your earphones in this way, they set up automatically with your other devices that are signed into iCloud and using iOS 10 or later, macOS Sierra or later, or watchOS 3 or later.

    1. Hold your earphones next to your unlocked iPhone.
    2. Press the power button on your earphones for 1 second.
    3. After a few seconds, your iPhone asks you to connect. If it doesn't, press the power button on your earphones for 5 seconds.
    4. Follow the instructions on your iPhone.

    If you have some other Bluetooth device, follow these steps to pair your earphones with that device:

    1. Press the power button for 5 seconds. When the indicator light flashes, your earphones are discoverable.
    2. Go to Bluetooth settings on your device.
    3. Select your earphones from the list of discovered Bluetooth devices.

    If you have an Android device, follow these steps:

    1. Get the Beats app for Android.
    2. Press the power button for 5 seconds. When the indicator light flashes, your earphones are discoverable.
    3. Select Connect on your Android device.
  3. Connect to a different device

    Your earphones automatically reconnect to the last device you used with them. To connect to a different device, follow these steps.

    iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iOS 10 or later:

    1. Open Control Center by swiping up from the bottom edge of the screen.
    2. Swipe to the side in Control Center to show the Now Playing card.
    3. Tap the device name in the corner of the card, then choose your earphones from the list of playback devices. If you don't see your earphones, follow the steps for all other devices, below.

    Android devices:

    1. Get the Beats app for Android.
    2. Press the power button for 5 seconds. When the indicator light flashes, your earphones are discoverable.
    3. Select Connect on your Android device.

    All other devices:

    1. Go to Bluetooth Settings on your device. On your Mac, you can just click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
    2. Select your earphones from the list of Bluetooth devices. If you don't see your earphones after a few seconds, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  4. Charge

    Plug your earphones into a power source using the included micro USB cable. Your earphones provide up to 12 hours of playback from a full charge, and up to 1 hour of playback from a 5-minute charge.

    When your earphones are turned on and set up, the LED indicator light on the left earphone shows how much listening time is left:

    • White: Up to 12 hours left
    • Red: Less than an hour left
    • Blinking red: Needs to charge
  5. Control

    To control audio playback, use the center button on the RemoteTalk cable:

    • Press once to play or pause audio playback.
    • Press twice to skip to the next track. Press three times to skip backward.
    • Press twice and hold on the second press to scan forward through a track. Press three times and hold on the third press to scan backward through a track.

    To control playback volume, use the volume buttons on the RemoteTalk cable. To control call volume, use the volume controls on your phone.

    • Press and release the volume up button, or press and hold to increase volume continuously.
    • Press and release the volume down button, or press and hold to decrease volume continuously.

    To control phone calls, use the center button on the RemoteTalk cable:

    • Press once to answer or end a call.
    • Press once to answer a second incoming call and put the first call on hold. When two calls are active, this switches between calls.
    • Press and hold for 1 second to reject an incoming call.
    • Press twice to stop listening through your earphones and send the call to the phone.

    To activate Siri on your iOS device or the voice-command feature on another device, press and hold the center button on the RemoteTalk cable until you hear a chime, then say what you need.

  6. Reset

    1. Hold down these buttons for 10 seconds:
      • Power button
      • Volume down button
    2. When the indicator light flashes, release the buttons. Your earphones are now reset and ready to be set up with your devices again.
  7. Update

    Your earphones are automatically kept up to date when they're set up with an iPhone using iOS 10 or later.

  1. Turn your headphones on or off

    Press and hold the power button for 1 second.

  2. Pair your headphones

    If you turn your headphones on and the indicator light turns on but doesn't flash, your headphones are already paired with a device. In that case, follow the steps to connect to a different device.

  3. Pair with an iPhone that uses iOS 11 or later

    1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
    2. Press the power button on your headphones for 1 second.
    3. Hold your headphones within 2 inches of your unlocked iPhone. After a few seconds, your iPhone asks you to connect.
    4. Follow the instructions on your iPhone.

    Pair with your Mac or another device that uses Bluetooth

    1. Press the power button on your headphones for 5 seconds. When the five Fuel Gauge lights flash, your headphones are discoverable.
    2. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your device. For example, on your Mac, choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
    3. Select your headphones from the list of discovered Bluetooth devices.

    Your headphones automatically pair with your other devices that are signed in to iCloud and using iOS 11 or later, macOS Sierra or later, or watchOS 3 or later.

  4. Connect to a different device

    Your headphones automatically reconnect to the last device you used with them. To connect to another device, follow these steps.

    Connect your headphones to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
    2. Tap the name of your headphones in the list.

    Connect to other devices

    1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your device. For example, on your Mac, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
    2. Select your headphones from the list of Bluetooth devices. If you don't see your headphones in the list, press and hold the power button on your headphones for 5 seconds.
  5. Charge your headphones

    Plug your headphones into a power source using the included micro USB cable. As the headphones charge, the five Fuel Gauge lights flash. When your headphones are fully charged, all five lights remain lit.

  6. Your headphones provide up to 22 hours of playback from 90 minutes of charging, and up to 40 hours when you turn off Pure ANC. And with Fast Fuel, your headphones provide up to 3 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.

  7. Check how much charge your headphones have

    To check the battery level, make sure your headphones are turned on, then tap the power button on your headphones and watch the five Fuel Gauge lights on the right earcup.

  8. Use your headphones

    Play

    Use the b button on the left earcup, or use the center button on the RemoteTalk cable in wired mode.

    • To pause or play a track, press once.
    • To skip to the next track, press twice. To skip backward, press three times.
    • To scan forward through a track, press twice and hold on the second press. To scan backward through a track, press three times and hold on the third press.

    Change the volume

    To control the playback volume or call volume, use the volume buttons above and below the b button on the left earcup. Or you can use the volume buttons on the RemoteTalk cable.

  9. Answer calls

    Use the b button on the left earcup, or use the center button on the RemoteTalk cable.

    • To answer or end a call, press once.
    • To answer a second incoming call and put the first call on hold, press once. When two calls are active, this switches between calls.
    • To reject an incoming call, press and hold for 1 second.
    • To stop listening through your headphones and send the call to the phone, press twice.

    Ask Siri

    To activate Siri on your iOS device or the voice-command feature on another device, use the b button on the left earcup or use the center button on the RemoteTalk cable. Press and hold until you hear a chime, then say what you need.

    Turn Pure ANC on or off

    Pure ANC turns on each time you turn on your Beats Studio3 Wireless, reducing external noise during playback. To turn Pure ANC on or off, double-press the power button while your headphones are connected to your device.

  10. Update

    If you pair your headphones with an iPhone that uses iOS 11 or later, your headphones automatically update to the latest firmware.

    If your headphones aren't paired with an iPhone that uses iOS 11 or later, you can use the Beats firmware updater.
